Intellectual property
About us
Taking into account that the sociocultural characteristics of our countries constitute an obvious advantage for the development of industries related to intellectual property, the working group in charge of this topic explores areas of cooperation in the matter. Cooperation projects are currently being analyzed and evaluated in order to strengthen the intellectual property systems of the region and to facilitate users of the system access to information and services provided by the competent entities in the area of copyright and industrial property of each country.
It has been decided to group the cooperation activities in three areas: Copyright; Industrial property; and Cross-cutting Aspects. During the face-to-face meetings and teleconferences held for this purpose throughout 2013, the countries have exchanged information of interest that will allow the construction of an action plan on the subject.
The competent authorities of Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru participate in the Working Group on copyright and industrial property.
