Political system
Peru is a democratic republic governed by the standing Political Constitution of 1993. Its organized around three branches of power: Executive (headed by the President of the Republic). Legislative (with only one chamber of 130 seats), and Judicial (headed by a Supreme Court of Justice).
Economy
In the last decade, Peruvian economy has had an average annual growth of 5.9%, due to the increase of private investment, specifically in the mining sector that represents 60% of the total exports.
Perú has a wide range of important natural found in mountain and coastal zones, as well as top quality fishery resources. Amongst its main commercial partners are: China, U.S.A., Canada and Japan.
